So much has been happening!

A lot has been happening at CitySalvos over the last few months. Here’s just a few highlights.

On May 14th we had the privilege of hearing from one of Australia’s most successful entrepreneurs Peter Daniels. Peter lives in the Adelaide Hills but is well know all over the globe through his public speaking and the 13 books he has authored. Peter is now 78 years old and his message on ‘Dreams’ had great impact on all who attended.

We had a great night of ministry with Mark Conner, Senior Pastor of CityLife Church, Melbourne. Mark’s father Kevin was an orphan child who was cared for by the Salvation Army, then accepted Christ at Box Hill Salvation Army and Soldiered there for 8 years.

We did Community Lunch on Friday 11th June partnering with a number of Internationals students through Study Adelaide and on  and Saturday July 3rd with Adelaide Congress Hall.

On June 30 we hosted part of the Adelaide leg of the Stop Paying For Slavery Tour. David Batstone, co-founder and President of Not For Sale reminded us of the grim reality that there are 27 million people in slavery today. You can find out more about Not For Sale at their website, or at their Facebook page, and you can follow them on Twitter.

And we were blessed to have Adelaide ex-pat Chris Moerman visit us last Friday night to lead our worship time and share some of his own songs with us. What a great night! If you’re interested in buying Chris’ EP, you can find it at the iTunes Store.

Coming up we have a number of exciting events with the Adelaide Congress Hall 130th celebrations with guest speakers, children’s programs, and performer Silvie Paladino!

Our wonderful Children’s Pastor Jen Dunkley will be taking 3 months leave as of the end of July. Jen and Adrian are expecting their first child – lets keep them in our prayers. Jen has done a great job leading our children’s programs. We’re fortunate to have Annette Palombi stepping into the role for the 3 month period. Annette works part time for our social services programs and with her family attend Hope Church. Annette will keep the high standards that Jen has set.
